The Velvet Room

This project was about creating a vibrant and cohesive living space with bold design choices.

The client had two luxurious velvet sofas—one golden yellow and the other rich blue—but found it challenging to envision how to create a cohesive space that balanced their vibrant colours. I introduced a tropical mural wallpaper that echoed the sofa tones, paired with dusky teal walls for depth and warmth.

To refine the space, I added an eclectic wall art collage, and a mix of textures with woven soft furnishings, a large rug, and velvet footstools.
A large glass centre table made an impact whilst helping the space feeling airy, while gold accents in accessories and side tables emphasises the element of luxury.
Lighting was important to the client so I created layered lighting, including dimmable wall lights and a striking ceiling fixture, tying everything together.
